Zeus and Ongineer set a milestone for the sustainable and safe operation of e-scooter sharing fleets
New innovative approaches are needed to promote e-scooter sharing as an important part of urban mobility in the long term.
The needs of all road users, cities, users, and providers, as well as environmental protection, must be sensibly reconciled.
With a comprehensive solution based on state-of-the-art technologies, Zeus and Ongineer are Ongineer setting a milestone
for the sustainable and safe operation of e-scooter sharing fleets.
In close cooperation with the city of Würzburg, the two companies have launched the world's first wireless charging station where e-scooters can be safely parked, charged, and automatically locked at the nearest station at the end of the ride
A patented process supports what is known as free-floating, ensuring the best possible flexibility for users – but also ensures that orderly and conflict-free use of e-scooters in cities is possible again.
Areas of a city that are restricted in use, e.g., near bodies of water, can thus be reopened—or do not need to be restricted in the first place. The resources, costs, and effort involved in charging and collecting the scooters or replacing the batteries can be significantly reduced. Intelligent management of the vehicles allows the use of smaller batteries.
In Würzburg, the photovoltaic system from 'litTrees' supplies the e-scooters in Würzburg at Hubland with self-sufficient electricity
, thereby making an important contribution to CO2 reduction.
