"Wireless charging" e-scooter fleet with the "Dock-Lock-Charge" system

 Zeus and Ongineer have now set a milestone for the sustainable and safe operation of e-scooter-sharing fleets

New, innovative approaches are needed to promote e-scooter sharing as a key component of urban mobility in the long term.
The needs of all road users, towns and cities, service users and providers, as well as the protection of the environment, must be sensibly reconciled.
With a comprehensive solution based on state-of-the-art technologies, Zeus and Ongineer are now setting a new benchmark
for the sustainable and safe operation of e-scooter-sharing fleets.

Working closely with the City of Würzburg, the two companies have launched the world’s first wireless charging station, where e-scooters can be safely parked and charged, and are automatically locked at the nearest station once the journey is complete
A patented process supports what is known as ‘free-floating’, thereby continuing to ensure the greatest possible flexibility for users – whilst also making it possible once again to manage e-scooters in cities in an orderly and conflict-free manner.

Areas of a city where use is restricted – for example, near bodies of water – can thus be made available again, or may not need to be designated as restricted zones in the first place. The resources, costs and effort involved in charging and collecting the scooters or replacing their batteries can be significantly reduced. Intelligent vehicle management enables the use of smaller batteries.
