LiON Splitter

3-in-1 charging plug for e-bikes

One4All – A wide range of connection options for your premises

LiON Splitter: three charging plugs, lots of possibilities

Different e-bikes require different charging connectors. The LiON Splitter combines three different charging plugs at a single charging point. Using ONgineer’s direct-charging technology, users can charge their compatible e-bike directly at the station – without having to bring their own charger.

The splitter variants offer connection options for systems from Bosch, Shimano and Yamaha, as well as for selected systems with Rosenberger connectors. By combining different variants across multiple charging points, the range of connection options can be specifically expanded and tailored to the vehicles at your site.

Each splitter charges one vehicle at a time. For e-scooters, separate plug types are available. The specific battery and charging system are key to compatibility.

A charging point.
A choice of three plugs.

Three cables with different charging plugs lead from the LiON splitter. Users select the appropriate connector for their compatible battery system and connect it directly to the charging station.

  • Supporting different systems

The selected splitter variant determines which three charging sockets are available at the charging point.

  • Charging without your own charger

ONgineer’s direct-charging technology connects the charging station directly to the compatible battery. There is no need to bring your own charger.

  • One vehicle per splitter

The three plugs are alternative connection options. Each splitter charges one e-bike or – with the appropriate plug type – one e-scooter.

Is the connection compatible with your vehicle?

The manufacturer’s name and plug type alone are not sufficient for selection. The specific battery and charging system, as well as their technical approval, are crucial. Please provide us with the vehicle model, model year and battery designation – we will help you select the appropriate splitter variant. Each splitter can charge one vehicle at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about the LiON splitter

Connections, compatibility and applications: the key answers to help with your planning.

What is the LiON Splitter?

The LiON Splitter is a connection module for ONgineer charging stations. Three cables with different charging plugs lead from it. Users select the appropriate plug for their compatible battery system. Each splitter is associated with a single charging point.

Can three vehicles charge at a splitter at the same time?

No. The three charging plugs are available as alternatives. Each splitter can be used to charge one e-bike or one suitable e-scooter.

The LiON Box X has two direct charging points, each with a splitter. This allows two compatible vehicles to charge directly at the same time.

Which e-bike systems can be connected?

Depending on the splitter variant, connectors are available for Bosch Smart, Bosch oval, Shimano and Yamaha, as well as Rosenberger connectors for selected battery systems from BMZ, Brose and Specialized . Another variant offers three hollow plug formats.

The manufacturer’s designation alone does not guarantee compatibility. The specific battery and charging system, as well as their technical approval, are the decisive factors.

How can we achieve the widest possible range of connectivity options?

Different splitter variants can be used across several charging points. For example, at the two direct charging points on a LiON Box X, various connection combinations can be provided.

The most suitable combination depends on the vehicles expected at your site. We can help you tailor the connections to meet these requirements.

Why does the ONgineer connector for Bosch Smart look different?

The ONgineer charging plug for the Bosch smart system has its own distinctive, round shape. Despite its visual differences from the original Bosch plug, it is designed for the charging port of compatible Bosch smart battery systems.

The „Bosch oval“ connector belongs to a different generation of Bosch systems. Bosch Smart and Bosch oval are not interchangeable.

Is the hollow plug version also suitable for e-bikes?

Yes. The version with the hollow plug sizes 8 × 5.5 mm, 5.5 × 2.5 mm and 5.5 × 2.1 mm is designed for suitable 36 V e-bike and e-scooter battery systems.

However, a mechanically compatible connector alone is not enough. The electrical characteristics and the requirements of the battery system must also be compatible. Compatibility is therefore tested for the specific system.

Do users need their own charger or charging cable?

To charge a compatible battery system directly, you do not need a separate charger or a separate charging cable. With ONgineer’s direct-charging technology, the battery is connected to the charging station via the existing splitter cable.

What information will help me choose the right option?

It is helpful to provide the vehicle manufacturer, model, model year and the exact battery designation. Photos of the charging port and the battery type plate make it easier to identify the model.

When planning a site, it is also important to consider which systems are present or expected, and how frequently they occur. Based on this, a suitable combination of splitter variants can be put together.

Which splitters are suitable for your location?

We can advise you on the right combination of plugs for your charging points – tailored to your users’ e-bikes and e-scooters.
