ONgineer’s solar-powered LiON Tree is now in operation on the Autostadt site
Espelkamp / Wolfsburg, June 2026 – Autostadt GmbH in Wolfsburg has expanded its mobility infrastructure to include a modern charging solution for e-bikes and e-scooters. With the LiON Tree Thanks to the Espelkamp-based manufacturer ONgineer, a self-sufficient, solar-powered charging station is now available on the Autostadt site; it requires no groundworks and offers a direct charging function.
The LiON Tree is a ballast-stabilised charging and parking system that is modular in design and can be fully transported if required. Instead of having to bring their own charger or cable, users simply plug the appropriate charging plug directly into the e-bike frame or the battery – a smart charging plug/splitter concept that ONgineer is the only manufacturer to offer.
With around 15.7 million e-bikes in use and a steadily growing number of users, the charging infrastructure for micromobility is becoming increasingly important, even in busy locations such as the Autostadt. The solution is aimed at staff and visitors alike.
